When it’s Spring it’s time to celebrate!

The Hermanus Whale Festival beckons with a superstar line-up of southern right whales and top entertainers from terra firma from 23 – 26 September 2004.

CLASSIC CARS PARK OFF AT THE FESTIVAL.

For the past two years, three motoring enthusiasts have brought an average of 85 classic cars to the Hermanus Whale Festival for a one day show that attracts motoring enthusiasts from all over the Western Cape.
Alan Johnson, formerly the presenter of the popular TV3 programme “Drivetime”, Tor Bovim, a local enthusiast and owner of a classic Mercedes and a Morgan, and Danie Loubser, who renovates old cars to their former glory, are once again organising the show which should attract more than 90 veteran, vintage and classic car owners to Hermanus.

An innovation this year is a vintage steam train run from Cape Town to Botrivier where many of the old cars will join the train, making this one of the best shows yet.
The cars will drive into Hermanus and park at the Hermanus Primary School on Saturday 25th September. There is no admission fee to see some of the very best on wheels from the past.
For further information contact Alan Johnson at 083 266 8946.

JOIN THE FIRST-EVER WELCOME WHALES WAVE!!

One of the most exciting and innovative events at this year’s Hermanus Whale Festival is the Welcome Whales Wave – about 2 000 people will create a human chain along the unique Cliff Path and perform a welcoming wave for the whales which will be filmed for television and other media.
The Welcome Whales Wave on 24 September, Heritage Day, is aimed at raising awareness of the Cliff Path and uniting all our people in a Proudly South African human chain of appreciation for our Decade of Democracy, our heritage and our environment.
