ACTIVITIES GALORE
There’s plenty of action over the final weekend of the Hermanus Whale Festival.
- The SIA Whale Festival Classic will be played over two days at the Hermanus and Arabella Golf Clubs on Thursday 27 and Friday 28th September.
- The Whale Festival Boule Tournament is a delightfully elegant affair played on the lawns in front of the Marine Hotel on Saturday 29th September. Participants are welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine and are spoilt throughout the day with treats from Lindt, wine tastings from Bouchard Finalyson and lunch provided by Woolworths.
- There are so many ways to watch whales, simply decide on the way you would prefer – by land, sea, kayak, plane, guided walk, guided boat based watching…the possibilities are endless. But it’s essential to experience the gentle giants first hand.
- To make your whale watching experience even more memorable, visit the Whale Show at the Whale Museum on Market Square . Noel Ashton, using his paintings and scientific illustrations, takes you below the surface and brings you face-to-face with these magnificent ocean travelers, telling the story of their underwater lives. Daily at 10:00 and 15:00.
- The Stanford Glendower Birding Fair offers talks, shows and guided walks focusing on our feathered friends. Take a boat trip down the Klein River to see a different side of Stanford and the Overstrand.
- For something completely different, try the Car Expo and Sound Show at the Mount Pleasant Sports Grounds on Sunday 30th September. Stalls, a kiddies playground and entertainment complete the programme at this exciting event.

Entry to and exit from the facility will be strictly controlled with children signed in and only released into their parent's care. Entry can be purchased on an hourly basis and food stalls will provide refreshments.
