A number of well maintained hiking trails are available in and around Hermanus. Nature reserves such as Fernkloof and Vogelgat offer extraordinary scenery and sweeping views with hiking trails suited to all fitness levels. The world famous Cliff Path is perhaps the most popular trail in Hermanus stretching from the New Harbour for about 12km along the rugged coastline all the way to Grotto beach promising incredible sea and mountain views and of course the best land based whale watching in the world in season. Guided walks and trails are also available.

Certain parts of the Hermanus Cliff Path are wheelchair-friendly, including the stretch in front of the Village Square Shopping Centre that stretches from the Marine Hotel to the Village Square. It offers scenic views over Walker Bay and superb whale watching in season. (June to November).

Fernkloof Nature Reserve
Fernkloof Nature Reserve is always open and there are several designated areas for wheelchair bound tourists. These paths still take you through a stunning array of fauna and flora and give you an uninterrupted view of the mountainous area.
