Nestled between the majestic mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, Villa Blu Guesthouse is situated in the whale watching capital of the world – Hermanus.

Just a five-minute strolll to the famous Grotto Beach and the magnificent cliff path, Villa Blu offers the perfect base from which to explore the natural beauty of the Cape Whale Coast.

Formally known as “Lavender Manor” , the house has been newly renovated with elegant interiors, spacious rooms, and peaceful garden and pool settings. We offer stylish en-suite rooms, each thoughtfully designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. 

Whether you’re here to explore the coastline, relax by the pool, or sip wine on the deck while watching southern right whales breach in the bay – Villa Blu welcomes you with warmth and quiet luxury.

Lover’s Cove is our premier suite and most luxurious room. It is the biggest room in the house and offers stunning views of the ocean which you can see from your bed! You have access from your bedroom to a spacious whale viewing deck, ideal for sundowners in the evening. For Honeymooners we go the extra mile to make you feel special and looked-after.

Great White Sharks
Divers around the world descend upon South Africa to enjoy this once in a lifetime experience of coming into close quarters with the incredible Great White Shark from the safety of the Shark Diving Cage. Our favourite: Great White Shark Diving
Sea Kayaking
Even the most inexperienced paddler can enjoy an amazing two hour trip into Walker Bay Marine Reserve. Experience whales and bird life coupled with breathtaking scenery. Unforgettable! Our favourite agent: Walkerbay Adventures.
Horse Riding
Horse riding on the beach will give new meaning to meandering along to the rhythm of your horse, while enjoying panoramic views of mountain and sea make this a truly magical experience. Our favourite: African Horse Company.
Mountain Trails
Fernkloof Nature Reserve offers a number of hiking trails, panoramic views through an abundance of fynbos. No other place on earth offers so many different species that can be seen growing in such close proximity.
Golfing
The Hermanus Golf Club is one of the most popular golf courses in the country - a definite 'must play' course. The Arabella Golf course is a very exclusive golf course partially situated alongside a lagoon in a nature reserve.
Wine Tasting Tours
The Hemel-en-Aarde valley is dotted with wine farms; the region is unique in South Africa and internationally known for its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Our favorite: unique wine paring at Creation Wines.
